Hi, I'm Dr. Priya Sangwan.
I am a practitioner of the ancient healing sciences of Ayurveda, yoga, and massage. Growing up in India I was fortunate to be surrounded by a family that believed in natural remedies and traditional herbs. Whenever I fell ill as a child, my grandpa would consult his book on medicinal plants, which had been passed down through generations. This early exposure sparked my interest in learning about herbs and their medicinal properties from both my family and the local community.
To further my knowledge, I pursued my education in Ayurvedic medicine at an esteemed ayurvedic medical college in India. There, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This comprehensive program encompassed both traditional Ayurvedic practices and modern allopathic medicine, including surgery. Throughout my studies, I had the privilege of learning from experienced physicians and gaining practical experience in a hospital setting, working directly with patients.
During my time in college, I developed a fascination for yoga and meditation. This led me to the enchanting city of Rishikesh, known worldwide as a hub for yoga teacher training. I underwent a transformative experience while pursuing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), which had a profound impact on my life. Since then, I have incorporated the principles of traditional yoga philosophy not only into my professional practice but also into various aspects of my personal life.
My journey eventually led me to Canada, where I pursued a course in Registered Massage Therapy (RMT). It was during this time that I had the pleasure of meeting an exceptional and dedicated teacher named Jaisri M Lambert. Under her guidance, I further expanded my knowledge by completing an in-person course on Nadi Pariksha (pulse assessment).
I am immensely grateful for the wisdom and teachings bestowed upon me by my Gurus throughout the years. It brings me great joy to finally embark on my own practice, where I can offer Ayurveda, yoga, and RMT services to help others in their journey towards holistic well-being.
